Most of our Camel Treks begin and end in M’Hamid, a peaceful village at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Guests usually make their own way to and from M’Hamid, but if preferred, Ultimate Morocco Tours can arrange comfortable transport—just let us know during booking.

We provide everything you need for a comfortable and authentic desert experience, including:

• Camels for riding and/or carrying luggage

• Luggage bags

• Kitchen equipment

• Sleeping tents and bedding

• Freshly prepared meals

Meals during the trek typically include:

• Lunch: Salads or cooked vegetables served with eggs, barbecue, or spaghetti

• Dinner: A warm soup followed by traditional Moroccan dishes such as tajines, couscous, and fresh fruit

🚫 Important Note: Due to extreme temperatures, these treks are not available during July and August.

🏜️ Day 1: From M’Hamid to Sidi Naji

Begin your desert adventure in the morning with a short exploration around M’Hamid, followed by a trek through green fields leading to the old Kasbah of M’Hamid. After a brief visit, continue toward Rass Enkhal, a beautiful spot where palm trees rise among the dunes—the perfect place for a relaxing lunch.
By evening, arrive at the sacred desert site of Sidi Naji, known for its spiritual significance and serene dunes. Set up camp, gather wood for the fire, enjoy Berber tea and dinner, and watch the stars after sunset from the top of the dune.

🐪 Day 2: From Sidi Naji to Erg Ezzahar – One of Morocco’s Highest Dunes

Start early for the long trek toward Erg Ezzahar, one of the tallest dune formations in Morocco. The landscape is breathtaking, with many stops for photos along the way.
Pause for a light lunch in the shade, then continue deeper into the dunes, collecting wood as you go. At camp, set up tents near the dune, climb to the top for an unforgettable sunset, and return for mint tea, dinner, and another magical night under the stars.

🌾 Day 3: From Erg Ezzahar to Krait Ejmal

Enjoy a morning stroll through the golden dunes, then continue your journey toward the Krait Ejmal area. Cross the Dra’a Valley and head toward Lhdiabate, where you’ll enjoy lunch under large, shady trees.
Continue trekking in the afternoon until reaching the peaceful Krait Ejmal dunes, where the evening is spent around the campfire with dinner and storytelling.

🌄 Day 4: Return to M’Hamid

Climb the dunes early to catch the sunrise, then have breakfast before packing up. Travel like true nomads toward Lbour, where you’ll stop for lunch under tamarisk trees and enjoy tea and conversation with local nomads.
By evening, return to M’Hamid. It is recommended to book a Riad in the village for the night—assistance is available upon request.
