Overview
Agadir is a city on the southern Atlantic coast of Morocco, in the foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. It is known for its golf courses, long beaches and seaside restaurants and cafés. A ruined Kasbah overlooks the city from a nearby hill. Agadir has a beautiful medina, museums, markets, including a bird market, and other places to visit.
Itinerary
Start your adventure early from your hotel in Agadir. Head towards Tiznit, a town renowned for its
exquisite silver handicrafts. Drive through breathtaking mountain scenery, stopping for lunch on the
way to the charming oasis village of Taffraoute in the Berber heartland. Enjoy a traditional dinner and
spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
After a hearty breakfast, explore the nearby Ameln Valley with a scenic walk along the ridge.
Continue to the enchanting Tazegzaoute Gorge for a picnic lunch or dine with local residents.
Proceed to Tata for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.
Following breakfast, journey south towards the Erg Chigaga dune field, the largest and most
untouched erg in the Moroccan Sahara. En route, enjoy the changing desert landscapes and stop at
Foum Zguid for lunch. Navigate off-road over rocky terrain and the dry Lake Iriqui to reach the
majestic Erg Chigaga dunes. Witness the stunning sunset, savor tea and dinner, and spend the night
in a traditional Berber tent or under the stars.
Wake early to marvel at the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, drive to M’Hamid, a key gateway
to the Sahara’s dunes. Relax and refresh with a shower in a local hotel. Continue to Tamegroute to
explore the historic kasbah, Koranic library, and traditional pottery. Travel through the picturesque
Dra’a Valley to Zagora, then arrive in N’Qob for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.
Depart after breakfast for the stunning Todra Gorges, passing through ancient kasbahs, lush palm
groves, and quaint farms. Stop at Tazzarine and enjoy lunch at Alnif. Reach the dramatic cliffs and
refreshing stream of the Todra Gorge. Have dinner and spend the night in a hotel.
Leave the Todra Gorges after breakfast and head towards the Dades Valley, known for its scenic
valleys, streams, and oases. Enjoy lunch in the valley and cross the Skoura Oasis, admiring ancient
kasbahs and extensive palm groves. Visit the iconic Kasbah Amridil, featured on the 50-dirham note,
and experience traditional life in a living museum. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, for a tour of its ancient kasbah, considered one of Morocco's most beautiful villages.
Drive through the High Atlas Mountains and have dinner en route.
Enjoy breakfast with views of the mountains. Take a one-hour walk in the High Atlas, then drive over
the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Have lunch in the mountains and arrive in Marrakech by mid-afternoon,
concluding your unforgettable journey.
